WLGA Adverse or Temporary
Course Conditions
Adverse or Temporary Course Conditions include such conditions as tee markers in a different place (usually moved forward) or temporary greens.
Change in Tee Marker Location
Temporary Greens
Birdies, Chip-ins, Hole-In-One
o When two circles are painted around a “green,” use the outer circle and follow the “2 putt rule.”
Tee for Two
Following T42, procedures, a T42 match cannot be played or completed when temporary greens are in place. If a temp green is encountered during play, suspend play at that point, or skip the temp green and continue playing all other holes. At the end of the uncompleted round, have the scorecard attested. Turn it into the Pro Shop to be held until you can come back and play the unfinished holes (when the greens are back to regulation). Have the scorecard attested again for the final holes, then turn the completed scorecard into the card room.
Change in Tee Marker Location
- If the tee markers are moved up, "play the course as it is set up." Record your actual score on the scorecard. (LGA Board 2014 and 2016). Birdies, chip-ins, eagles, Hole-in-One and Ringers will count.
- If the location of the tee markers results in a temporary change in par for that hole, Birdies, Eagles and Ringers will NOT count as that par is temporary. A Hole-in-One or a chip-in on that hole will count. If playing a T42 and this type of hole is encountered, you must skip the hole and use the procedure described in the T42 procedures.
- For posting on GHIN, use the original par for that hole plus strokes based on your handicap. (2016)
Temporary Greens
- If a temporary green painted or mowed on the course, the maximum number of putts that can be taken is two (the “2 putt rule”).
- Ringers
- Ringers will NOT be counted on Temporary Greens. The Tournament Committee will note impacted holes and communicate the information to the Ringers Committee.
Birdies, Chip-ins, Hole-In-One
- If a player strikes the ball from outside the temporary green onto the temporary green and it goes in the hole, the player will be awarded a birdie, eagle, chip-in or Hole-In-One as appropriate.
- A player will NOT be awarded a birdie or eagle if utilizing the “2 putt rule” to achieve the score.
o When two circles are painted around a “green,” use the outer circle and follow the “2 putt rule.”
- Do NOT post a score on GHIN if ALL the greens are temporary
